Beth's Festive Bedroom

Since I hadn't decorated my doll rooms for Christmas yet, I decided to change Beth's room about a little and add some festive décor!

I wanted to keep most of her Disney stuff still in the room, so I added this Mickey Mouse Christmas snowglobe to tie the two themes together.

This mug came with the Our Generation horse I have, and I love it! It's so cute!

I hung some tinsel and hooked clay candy canes to it :)

Lastly, her Christmas stocking is hanging in the corner!

I hoped you enjoyed this post!

31 Thoughts I Had While Watching "Saige"

Hello hello! A while ago I saw a post by a Disney blog, where they wrote down thoughts they had while watching a movie. I was familiar with the movie, so the post was entertaining. I thought it might be fun to do a similar post here on an American Girl movie! I believe Saige is the fourth GOTY movie I have watched (after Lea, McKenna, and Isabelle). I watched the movie, and jotted down things as it went along. If you are familiar with the movie, you might know what I am referring to in my list of "thoughts" :)

The "thoughts" will begin at the start of the movie and continue to the end. Anything in parentheses is tidbits that I am just including as I write this post.

Without further ado!....

1.  This song sounds like it would be played at Disneyland California Adventure.
2. This girl's hair is a lot redder than the doll's.
3. ITS HER MEET OUTFIT
4. Where does she live? Oh, New Mexico. (I was literally trying to remember where she lived two seconds before they showed the school name)
5. She's going to make friends with the new girl.
6. REMBRANDT! (I feel like the AG stuffy of Rembrandt has different proportions than the dog)
7. Is that Mimi?
8. All her animals are named after artists.
9. Mimi and Saige have matching earrings.
10. Oh how sad the art room is locked.
11. That's a cute song.
12. Wow my brother totally called that.
13. This is sad!
14. Tessa looks like Julie.
15. How did she know those four girls planned it?
16. Hahaha! "This is Bland" (😂)
17. You can do it Saige!!
18. She's fake crying! Good for her! (I was commenting on the actress, not the character :))
19. They have nice signs.
20. They should have an art exhibit and sell their art.
22. Focus Saige!!
24. Yay! She picked up the brush pens!
25. Oh I'm glad they made up.
26. They're unlocking it!!!!
27. Whoa! A balloon with lips!!!
28. Wait. Her name is Mimi?? (I thought that was just what Saige called her.)
29. IT'S HER FANCY DRESS
30. That's still good, they only need $1,000 more.
31. Ooo sparkles.

THE END! Yes, those were thirty-one thoughts I had while watching Saige :) I hope you enjoyed this, and knew what I was referring to in most of the thoughts.

Have a nice day!

I've been trying to get the email subscription gadget to work, but I can't seem to. I've looked up tutorials but nothing has worked... That's why there isn't an option to follow me by email directly from my site. But if you have a Google or Wordpress account, it's easy to follow me that way.

The AG Clothes I Picked Up

Since some of you wanted to see the clothes I got when I got my two fixer-upper dolls, I
shot some pictures! I still need to iron/clean the clothes. I plan to try to sell most of the items on eBay. I haven't been able to identify everything, so if you recognize something let me know in the comments. At the end of the post is an update on how one of the fixer-upper dolls is looking!

I believe this is Molly's raincoat and hat!

This is a Pleasant Company holiday dress.

This is a variety of pieces from a number of Pleasant Company outfits. I love the little hat!

I'm not sure what the skirt and shirt go to.

McKenna's meet dress, Nellie's pajama pants, and a gold dress that I can't identify.

Historical Rebecca Meet dress and shoes. The dress really needs to be ironed XD

This is a Pleasant Company outfit, called "In the City" or "City Sightseeing" or something, I don't remember.

And then these little black socks and a pair of white leggings because why not.

Bonus update! This is what Rebecca's hair looks like now! I'll talk through the process of what I did in a later post.

I'm not sure if I want to recurl her hair or do the boil braid style. What do you think?

Two Lost Dolls // Restoration Part 1

What could be in these bags?

Along with a conglomeration of clothing (including Pleasant Company pieces), this week I bought two well-priced fixer-upper dolls! They are Historical Rebecca and #39. I have both these dolls, but I plan on fixing them up to resell anyway.

As you can see, they are pretty dirty and their hair is in a state. #39's has been cut, and Rebecca's is dry and matted.

Their bodies don't have a lot of shine marks or scratches, but they do have ink stains in multiple places.

39's face, besides being dirty, is actually in good condition. Her hair is another story.

Rebecca's hair is pretty bad. Although it may not be salvageable, I definitely wanted to try my best to rescue her locks.

She has lighter eyes than my BeForever Rebecca doll.

Some of the ink marks on Rebecca.

I started with Rebecca by taking off her head and removing her stuffing. I then tightened her limbs and cleaned them. I cleaned them first with baking soda, then a magic eraser. I washed her body in hot water with a little soap.

This is her hair after I've washed and conditioned it.

Then I dipped her hair in boiling water a few times. After that, I twisted the hair and trimmed the fraying edges. Next I plan to do a downy dunk. I'll see how that goes, and see if it's necessary to try the hair straightener method. As of right now, this is where Rebecca's hair is.

Next up, I set to work on #39's body!

She had these red marks on her wrists.

Also, something white was in her mouth. She also had a white mark on her forehead. I cleaned all that up and used a magic eraser on her body. She was DIRTY. I could literally tell where I had already swiped the eraser just by the color of the vinyl.

For the ink I found some 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. It's generally recommended to use 10%, but all I had on hand was 2.5%. I thought it was worth a try. I put it on the vinyl and wrapped plastic wrap around it. The bodies are now in the window sill.

I dipped 39's hair in boiling water too. Now, I'm not a hairdresser by any means. But 39's hair needed help. I decided to just even out what was already there, not change the style. So I trimmed around to even it out.

For the most part, her hair is actually still smooth. I'll check it after it's dry to see what else it needs done to it.

Well, that's all I've done so far on these two girls! I'm excited to return them to a happier state so they can be loved again!

Would you be interested in seeing what clothes I got too?
I'll be trying to clean and resell most of it.
