Why Hello There! // Family Photo, Instagram?!

Hello! I am happy to say that most of my doll things are now unpacked, and I have been able to set up my doll rooms and take a few photos! I decorated for Christmas and put the tree up!

I took new headshots for each of my dolls because I started an Instagram account this week! I had wanted to do that for a while, since there is such a large doll photography community there. My account is @reveriedollsag and I hope to be posting quite frequently.

May Teddie // A Photo Shoot

I finally did something to Teddie that I've been wanting to for a while! Seeing this doll customized by Valerie from @lovelivautum was the last straw. I freckled Teddie! Take a look at this photo shoot and tell me what you think!

Personally, I like them! It took several tries but I finally got a result that I was okay with. Since it's definitely summer here, it's natural that a redhead like Teddie would get a few freckles!

What do you think of her freckles? Is it summer where you are?

New Hearing Aids Again // Photo Shoot

Yes.... This post will end in another photo shoot of Cadence, but it was so fun to do, guys. I took 42 pictures but I'm only posting 9 ;)

But first!

I had to make Cadence some new hearing aids because her old ones broke (and I also lost one....). Besides, it was about time for her to get new, since kids have to get new hearing aids frequently because they grow out of them.

Last time I used clay to make the ear mold and behind the ear portion. This time, however, I recalled how AmericanGirlIdeas often uses hot glue in a variety of creative ways. Hot glue doesn't stick to parchment paper, so it is possible to create a shape and then remove it.

I used two plastic covered paper clips.

I also used a tool (I don't remember the name of it) to bend the paperclip, a hot glue gun, and a heart shaped cookie cutter which happened to have nearly the same curvature as the ear.

First, I bent the paperclip to the correct size.

I used Phoebe to model the hearing aids since her hair stays away from her face better than Cadence's.

I then squirted a bit of sparkly gold hot glue onto parchment paper.

Before the hot glue was completely dry, not sticky but still pliable, I removed it from the parchment and pressed it into her ear. Once it's completely hardened, I took it out. Then I used the metal tip of the hot glue gun to soften and smooth the rough edges.

I stuck the metal into the ear mold.

For the behind the ear section, I put the hearing aid on the parchment paper and hot glued around it. Just like before, I molded it to the ear, adding more hot glue and smoothing it when needed.

Finished products!

On to the photo shoot so you can see what the hearing aids look like on Cadence. They don't fit her exactly as they fit Phoebe, but it's pretty close.

I like that the new ones are more fun and colorful.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Cadence Got a Haircut?! + Photo Shoot

I decided it was time to give Cadence bangs! Without a clip, her hair always falls in her face like this:

I finally got up the nerve and got out the scissors. For an hour, I snipped away, slowly but surely. I was a little worried about scratching her face or accidently cutting her eyelash.

But it all worked out, and I will be working on it more in the future, because I think it needs to be a bit shorter. But thought I would do a little reveal!!

Ta da!

After I took this picture I worked on her bangs some more. Her wig isn't glued on, so I adjusted the length of the bangs by moving the wig a little. Downside of this is, if her wig accidentally moves, the bangs get uneven. Anyway, I did a photo shoot of her!

I like her bangs! They let her show her face without a clip and I was able to put her hair in pigtails! Her wig is from Exquisite Doll Designs, and it doesn't have a sewn part. That's why the bangs lay correctly, because the hair naturally falls straight down. I've never cut bangs on anything before so tell me what you think of Cady's bangs! She's looking a little bit like the doll she used to be, Ivy ;)

I think it's Brooke's turn for a post, do you?

PS Don't cut your dolls hair without your parents' permission!

EDIT: I also am wondering if you know of a place with AG mini doll free patterns?? My minis need clothes!

It's Not Summer Yet, Phoebe // A Photo Story

Phoebe stood gazing out at the bright yard.

She stood at the threshold of a friend she hadn't seen for what seemed liked forever: THE SUN.

She crossed the line with a jump and threw her arms in the air, "Sunshine!!"

She sprawled in the warmth.

After months of being cooped up by the snow, she was finally able to spend the afternoon exploring.

She threw off her headband and let her hair blow in the breeze.

*sigh*

"Do you see something in my eyes?! It's the SUN!!! YAY!!!"

After a while, Phoebe headed back inside, exhilarated. She passed Brooke in the hall.

Brooke stared at her for a second.
"Um, Phoebe? What were you doing out there? Dressed like that?"

"Playing! It's summer!!"
Brooke shook her head and sighed.
