August 21 American Girl Release // My Likes!

I thought Nanea was already released, but today was actually her release! I think she is pretty, and although her face mold is different and new, I think that it's great that AG made a new face mold for her!

Today I'll be showing you my top picks from the American Girl release today! All pictures of from americangirl.com.

This dress is soooo pretty. It doesn't come with shoes, but that's okay. I think Beth could rock this.

I also really like this dress. The color scheme is lovely. The shoes are cute, but I wouldn't pair them with the dress.

Although this set is mostly plastic, I think it's got some cute pieces! The bag would be great for a beach shoot!

I like the idea of this fishing set. I can't wait to see if American Girl Ideas does a DIY of this set. Maggie would probably love to go fishing :)

Although I don't love these as much as last year's holiday pajamas, these are pretty cute!

Lastly, I picked Gabriela's dress as one of my top likes from today's release. I think that Phoebe would look really good in it, and the shoes are adorable.

I also like the yellow ballgown-type dress, but I don't see it on the American Girl website...

What was your favorite item from today's release?

Dolls I Designed // AG Create Your Own Line

Today American Girl's new Create Your Own doll line was launched. On the website, you can design your own doll from 5 face molds, 3 vinyl tones, 7 eye colors, 7 hair colors, 16 haircuts, and 5 hairstyles. You can also add earrings, freckles, hearing aids, and glasses. You can even have your doll have two different colors of eyes. I don't believe these additions cost more money in addition to the $200. The price also includes one of six outfits, that you can choose, and an accessory set. I was surprised to see that some of the options were "low inventory" or "back ordered". The Ivy face mold is "back ordered".

I wanted to show you a few dolls that I created today!

This doll has the Josefina mold, grey eyes, freckles, and long straight blonde hair. I picked the two low pigtails for her hairstyle.

I was dissapointed to see that there was not a haircut that was shoulder length without bangs. This doll has the classic mold, green eyes, and brown medium length hair. I think the classic mold on the website doesn't look like the actual classic mold...

This doll has blue eyes, red short curly hair, and the Ivy mold. Cute!

Next I wanted to see if it would be possible to create a look alike of a doll that has been retired (like a GOTY).

This was as close as I could get to a Kanani look alike.

Cecile look alike.

Lindsey look alike. Of the look alikes I tried, I think this one looks most like the original doll.

I'm interested to see pictures of some of the Create Your Own dolls that people have created and purchased. Like, what the haircuts and colors look like on an actual doll, rather than an edited digital version.

I think it's fun to put together unique dolls on the AG website and see what they would look like! Have you created any yet today?

American Girl Doll Ultimate Visual Guide // Review

A few weeks ago I was able to get the American Girl Ultimate Visual Guide from DK. It's such a pretty book with wonderful pictures! Not only does the book have fun facts about the current and retired Historical/Beforever, Truly Me, and GOTY dolls, but there is also a bunch of behind the scenes information. For example, there's a bit of American Girl history for new fans or those seeking a bit more information.

The dust cover can be removed and on the opposite side is a huge poster with lots of dolls!

This is a lovely book and I recommend it for those who love to look at American Girl catalogs. The photographs of the dolls in action are good inspiration for photo shoots, as well!
