Ice Skating Photoshoot

Brooke has always loved to ice skate for fun, so when I discovered this ice I knew it was time for another photoshoot!

Christmas Stocking Pattern

After making Christmas stockings for my dolls, I thought I'd post the pattern I made to do it! I tested three versions of the simple pattern before deciding on the final look.

Here is the pattern! I used 1/8" seam allowance. The 1" right angle next to the pattern is to make sure it prints the right size.

Our Generation Outfits - 2

Happy Thanksgiving!

I was scrolling through Our Generation products on Target.com again, so I thought I'd post a few outfits that I think are cute and have mix and match potential! All the prices and pictures are from the Target.com website.

This first outfit is called Gotta Bowl and it is $16.99. The jeggings would be cute with any outfit, as they are very versatile, along with the pink spaghetti strap tank. The other outfit pieces also have great mix n match ability.

This is the Pink Fur Coat Outfit and it is $17.99. The skirt would look great with or without the tights. I would also try white tights under the pink skirt. I think each piece in this outfit is very cute!

This is the Bust a Move Outfit and it is $12.99. I think the shoes may be plastic. The leggings look versatile, as does the top, which is perfect for a dancer!

 

 

 The Floral Fluffy Coat outfit is $17.99. The coat with it's delicate floral pattern is adorable! It would be a perfect coat to slip on and go out on a cold weather day. The purple tunic top would be cute in summer with a light weight scarf.

Who Looks Best?

I thought I'd do a post on who looks best in a dress I made! I made the dress last year for the Doll Wardrobe fashion design challenge. The theme was cartoon characters, so the outfit I designed was based on Cinderella. My outfit design was meant to be something like Beforever, sort of a modern version of the Cinderella outfit that girls might wear today. The outfit I entered into the design challenge included the dress, a necklace, shoes, gloves, and a headband, but today my dolls will just be wearing the dress.

Tropical Beth

I was going through my doll clothes putting together outfits, when I came across this Hawaiian style dress. I immediately wanted to see how Beth looked in the dress! The dress happens to be the only piece of clothing (besides shoes) that I have ever bought for my dolls. You can read about where and how I got the dress here.

Her hair clip I made from some paper flowers, hot glue, a rhinestone, and an alligator clip.

 

 

Her hair looks like it has a reddish tint in this photo!

Christmas Stockings

To decorate my fireplace, I made a stocking for each of my girl dolls. To do so, I bought a felt stocking. From the stocking, I was able to make four doll sized stockings, and would have been able to cut another if needed.

 

 

I had read that measurements for doll stockings should be around 2" wide and 4" tall. Taking these measurements, I drafted a pattern. These are the different versions of the stocking I made before settling on the third one.

All four made!

 

To hang each of the stockings, I cut four strips of skinny black ribbon that were 3" long each.

 

I looped the ribbon and hot glued it to the back so I could hang the stockings.

 

 

Lastly, I put the first initial of each girl's name on the stocking with black puffy paint.

 

I made the stocking hangers from Sculpey. I took pictures of the process, but now I can't find them... It was pretty simple, I just got a lump of clay and formed it into a chicken leg shape on a flat surface. Once I had that basic shape, I picked it up off the surface and shaped it to have a hook. 

 

And then I got distracted and took pictures of Beth :)
